Don’t you just love a completely new model?! I know I do. It is why I was very sad to miss this launch, but it is only because I had already accepted another launch invite (you will see which model that is later this week). The Volkswagen Arteon…wait before we move on, any ideas how to say that name? Put emphasis on the first syllable and you’ll nail it. The name Arteon is based on two component parts: ‘Art’ describes the fastback’s harmonious lines and emotionality, and ‘eon’ identifies it as a premium model. As you can probably tell, I copied that directly from the press release and I am as confused as you are. Let’s just look at another pic of it rather:
Anyhoozal, back to the actual car. This new Arteon replaces the outgoing Passat CC and as a business class sedan, it will compete with the likes of the Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. This five-door, five seater fastback will be offered in three derivatives.
Engines available include the 2.0 TDI which produces 130 kW and 350 N.m with a fuel consumption of 5.6l/100km. And the 2.0 TSI will give you 206 kW and 350 N.m of torque and of course a heavier thirst at 7.3l/100km. But it will get you to 100km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
